With a social enterprise on one hand and a deep love of music on the other, B-Corp-certified Topiku’s founder and music producer Monty Hasan is a true person of many hats. We met with him to talk about his passion for driving changes through sustainability, bringing local underground artists to the fore through Bebop, and how he balances it all in his everyday life.

On Shuffle—Embrace All of You

How often do we think we know someone well, only to later be surprised by a side of them we’ve never seen before? Likewise, there may be sides of ourselves that we rarely, if ever, show to others. These parts often stay hidden because they might not match some preexisting ideas about who we are—how others see us and how we see ourselves. We readily embrace more familiar or acceptable parts of ourselves and hide or reject any part we deem less so. Does it have to be this way?

Through this campaign, we invite you to question our often limited notions of ourselves and consider what it means to embrace your different sides. For this reason, we collaborated with a few remarkable individuals who don’t shy away from their multifaceted nature. Whether juggling a social enterprise alongside a music career or leading an artistic collective while occasionally giving lectures, these people aren’t afraid to pursue their interests and share who they really are with the world. We’ll lay out the fun and insightful exchanges we had in the coming weeks on our socials, so stay tuned.

Ultimately, must we neatly put ourselves in boxes, or should we proudly own and express our multifaceted self? We believe in the latter.
